Ryan Cho

Ryan Cho is the violist and founder of Vilera.

Ryan began his formal training in classical viola performance at age 9, but due to interests in genres outside classical music, the innate urge to apply his skills to other genres led him to engage with the online music sphere of jazz, metal, math rock, and more. 

After earning a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music Education degree at Vanderbilt University, Ryan set out to the outskirts of Japan, where he found the peace of mind to finally apply all his learned skills and influences to Vilera’s first piece of work.

Ryan Cho currently resides in Fukushima, Japan, where he composed Vilera’s first release in its entirety. When not making music, he loves to go cycling and play video games with the local bar owner in Fukushima City.
